Thryv has launched a new artificial intelligence-powered marketing solution for home services businesses across Australia and New Zealand. The software is aimed at trades and service professionals, including plumbers, landscapers, electricians, and pool maintenance specialists, helping them improve their online presence, automate sales processes, and encourage repeat business.
AI and automation
The new features, built into the Thryv platform, use AI to automate business processes throughout the customer journey. The tools are designed to capture leads, facilitate follow-ups, and keep businesses visible online. This functionality removes the need for external marketing agencies or complicated integrations.
"They are experts in their fields, however, not necessarily on digital marketing. Our software levels the playing field - giving them access to the same technology and intelligence as big brands, in a format that is easy to use and designed for everyday business," said Elise Balsillie, Head of Thryv Australia and New Zealand.
Three-step framework
Thryv has structured the offering on a three-step growth framework. The first step helps businesses be found online, boosting brand credibility and increasing their ranking in search results, AI-powered platforms, social channels, and directories. The second step enables businesses to capture and convert leads using customer relationship management and automation features, such as sending estimates and appointment reminders. The third step focuses on maintaining customer relationships, with reputation management tools, automated review requests, and email and SMS campaigns designed to drive repeat business.
Routine actions like responding to leads, adding contacts to the CRM system, and managing follow-ups are handled by Thryv's AI, which also prompts customers for reviews after service completion and delivers timely maintenance offers to promote loyalty.
Business simplification
"Automation shouldn't feel robotic - it should feel human, relevant and on-brand. That is what Thryv's AI tools do. They save hours of manual effort, reduce missed sales opportunities and strengthen the reputation that small businesses work so hard to build," said Balsillie.
Key features
The software updates local listings across more than 30 directories, including Google Search and ChatGPT, to improve search visibility. It generates AI-powered responses to customer reviews, helping companies maintain tone and responsiveness. Automated follow-up functionality allows businesses to send personal, timely emails to customers and prospects while reducing administration. The AI content generator designs and schedules marketing campaigns, offering seasonal deals and maintaining customer engagement during quieter periods.
The solution connects to more than 2,000 third-party platforms via Zapier, working with providers such as ServiceM8 and SimPro to integrate with existing business systems.
Market demand
Balsillie added that demand is rising for integrated business platforms. "We have seen a huge shift toward consolidation. Business owners want everything in one place, including marketing, bookings, payments, and communication - all working together to grow their business. That is exactly where Thryv delivers," said Balsillie.
Industry outlook
"What matters now is making AI accessible, transparent and genuinely useful for small businesses. Our goal is to make growth effortless and marketing meaningful, no matter the size of the team or the trade," said Balsillie.
