Munro Footwear adopts Fluent system to unify orders

Tue, 24th Feb 2026

Munro Footwear Group has gone live with Fluent Order Management, a distributed order management system from Fluent Commerce. The rollout is part of a broader technology programme at the Australian footwear retailer and wholesaler, which operates more than 240 stores, along with eCommerce and distribution centres.

Amblique worked with Munro Footwear Group on the implementation, which focuses on inventory visibility and fulfilment orchestration across brands, stores, warehouses, and digital channels.

Munro Footwear Group owns and operates retail brands including Williams, Midas, Mathers, and Mountfords, and runs wholesale brands including Diana Ferrari, Colourado, Ziera, and Bobux.

Inventory view

The platform provides a single view of inventory across channels, supporting ship-from-store alongside warehouse fulfilment.

Munro Footwear Group plans to use the system for online orders, including marketplace orders, as well as endless aisle orders. Orders can be sourced from a distribution centre or stores, depending on stock position and fulfilment rules.

Those rules can prioritise fulfilment locations based on factors such as oldest stock, lowest sell-through rate, or nearest location. The aim is to manage aged inventory, reduce split shipments, and cut delivery miles where stock is available locally.

The system is also intended to improve click and collect, with features including store-level stock availability, order revisions, and multi-channel refunds.

Technology programme

The order management implementation follows earlier retail and logistics investments. Munro Footwear Group previously rolled out a national point-of-sale system and opened a new distribution centre as part of its technology roadmap.

Retailers with large store estates have increased investment in distributed order management as delivery expectations rise and store networks take on a greater fulfilment role. The approach can reduce reliance on central warehouses during peak periods and improve stock utilisation when demand varies by location.

Munro Footwear Group has positioned the change as part of a broader transformation agenda.

"Our investment in this platform is part of our ambitious transformation agenda, which seeks to find efficiencies and enhance the customer experience by drawing on the most innovative technology in the market," said Jay Munro, CEO, Munro Footwear.

He also highlighted the delivery track records of the two suppliers.

"Fluent Commerce and Amblique have an excellent reputation for delivering real value to retailers, and we look forward to seeing the benefits this Distributed Order Management System brings," Munro said.

Implementation partner

Amblique described the go-live as a milestone in its work with Munro Footwear Group and Fluent Commerce.

"Achieving this go-live with Munro Footwear Group (MFG) marks an exciting milestone in our journey together. Partnering with MFG and Fluent Commerce, we have delivered a robust, innovative solution that enables MFG to provide seamless, customer-focused solutions across all their channels. We are honoured to be part of MFG's transformation journey alongside Fluent Commerce and look forward to supporting MFG as they continue to set new standards in the retail industry," said Stephanie Byrne, CEO, Amblique.

Fluent Commerce said the platform is designed for multi-brand, multi-channel retail environments, and can improve inventory accuracy and enable fulfilment decisions based on profitability and customer convenience.

"MFG required a sophisticated platform to support its large network of brands. We believe our Distributed Order Management System will help them to unlock new efficiencies across its entire supply chain and look forward to seeing its impact," said Graham Jackson, CEO, Fluent Commerce.

For Munro Footwear Group, the deployment means order fulfilment can draw more directly on store stock as well as warehouse inventory. The sourcing logic also provides a way to manage older products and slow-moving lines across the network while maintaining service levels across delivery and pickup options.

Munro Footwear Group will continue work on customer-facing features linked to inventory availability, fulfilment choice, and after-sales service across channels.
