KrisFlyer partners with Econnex for more ways to earn miles

Wed, 20th Aug 2025

Singapore Airlines' KrisFlyer programme and comparison platform Econnex have entered into a partnership enabling Australian KrisFlyer members to earn up to 13,500 miles annually by switching their utility and telco services via Econnex.

New earning opportunities

Under the agreement, KrisFlyer members in Australia can now earn KrisFlyer miles when they use Econnex to switch their electricity, gas, broadband, mobile, or solar plans. Members will receive 3,000 KrisFlyer miles each time they switch an electricity, gas, internet or solar plan, while switching a mobile plan will generate 1,500 miles. Members must stay connected to the chosen service for at least 45 days to qualify for these rewards.

The maximum of 13,500 miles is available to members who switch all five types of services through the Econnex platform within a year.

A response to growing household costs

The collaboration arrives at a time when households and businesses are contending with increased energy, internet and mobile bills. The partnership aims to provide additional value and rewards to KrisFlyer members who are considering changing utility providers in response to rising costs.

Ankit Jain, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Econnex, said, "We're thrilled to be partnering with Singapore Airlines to provide KrisFlyer members with more opportunities to earn miles and redeem more rewards and premium experiences faster. This partnership will help more Australians unlock greater value, while making sure they're getting the best deals for their needs."

Wider KrisFlyer ecosystem

Marco Giarrizzo, General Manager Marketing and Corporate Sales Australia for Singapore Airlines, added, "We are pleased to expand the ways KrisFlyer members in Australia can earn miles through our partnership with Econnex. By offering more opportunities to build up miles balances when switching plans for essential household services, we continue to enhance the value and appeal of being a KrisFlyer member in Australia."

KrisFlyer is the lifestyle rewards programme of Singapore Airlines and enables members to earn and redeem miles both in the air and on the ground. Through this new partnership, KrisFlyer extends its rewards offering, giving members the means to accumulate additional miles through everyday transactions beyond travel-related spending.

Additional earning and redemption avenues

In addition to this partnership, KrisFlyer members in Australia can use the Kris+ lifestyle rewards app to earn and redeem miles at participating physical locations, including 170 partner brands in Sydney and Melbourne. The Kris+ platform, already active in Singapore with over 1,600 outlets, gives members the option to access discounts and benefits on in-store dining, retail, and entertainment experiences.

Travel experiences platform Pelago, also a part of the wider Singapore Airlines Group, allows customers to earn or redeem KrisFlyer miles on more than 200,000 activities and experiences worldwide, including in Australia. This further illustrates Singapore Airlines' efforts to integrate its rewards programme across a broader spectrum of lifestyle and travel offerings.

Singapore Airlines' presence in Australia

Singapore Airlines and its low-cost subsidiary Scoot operate 173 weekly flights from seven cities across Australia, connecting passengers to a global network encompassing 125 destinations in 37 countries. This gives Australian travelers multiple opportunities to make use of accrued KrisFlyer miles when booking future travel or exchanging them for on-the-ground rewards and experiences.

The new partnership with Econnex represents another channel for Australian customers to maximise their KrisFlyer membership and taps into a wider market of households potentially seeking to mitigate ongoing living costs by comparing and switching essential service providers.
