Dynatrace enhances multi-cloud automation & visibility

Dynatrace has expanded its cloud-native integrations across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, as it targets organisations running multi-cloud architectures and AI-driven applications.

The software firm said the additions increase visibility across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud in a unified view. It described the integrations as part of its Cloud Operations offering. Dynatrace positioned the move around operational complexity, including reliability, resilience and cost management across multiple cloud platforms.

Companies increasingly run applications across more than one public cloud. They also deploy workloads that rely on large volumes of data and frequent changes in infrastructure. Observability tools track system behaviour and performance across that mix. Vendors in the space compete for contracts with large enterprises and cloud-first businesses.

Dynatrace said the expanded integrations draw on its Grail data lakehouse, Smartscape real-time dependency graph and Dynatrace Intelligence. The company said these components sit behind its approach to operations and automation in multi-cloud environments.

What changed

Dynatrace listed a set of enhancements tied to the integrations. It said expanded telemetry and metadata improve insight into AWS, Azure and Google Cloud services. It said this gives teams more information about the health and behaviour of cloud-native environments.

The company also pointed to ready-made health indicators, warning signals and customisable alerts. Dynatrace said these can surface risks early across cloud-native workloads, including those running on Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure AI Foundry.

Dynatrace said it has built-in automation for remediation. It said this resolves issues as they occur and reduces manual work. It said it also runs regardless of where workloads operate.

It also described an automated optimisation function. Dynatrace said it provides continuous assessment of cloud resource usage. It said this can inform decisions on performance and cost efficiency across multi-cloud deployments.

Customer view

Some customers described the work in terms of visibility and automation. SBS Software cited operational goals around autonomy.

Partner response

Dynatrace framed the announcement around the day-to-day work of platform and operations teams. It said teams face competing requirements across performance, cost and resilience as they run workloads across cloud providers.

AWS also commented on the expanded integrations, with an emphasis on scale and the need to address issues quickly.

Market context

Industry analysts have tracked a steady rise in multi-cloud adoption, alongside continued investment in monitoring and observability. Vendors increasingly bundle automation features and cost-related tooling alongside performance monitoring, as cloud spending comes under closer scrutiny.

Dynatrace said support for AWS is generally available, while Azure support and Google Cloud Platform support sit in preview.
