Dr. Bronner's boosts Australian sales by 55% after Amazon refresh

Tue, 12th Aug 2025

Dr. Bronner's has increased its monthly marketplace revenue by 55% in Australia following a partnership with eCommerce accelerator Pattern.

Lateral Food Corporation, the exclusive importer and distributor of Dr. Bronner's Organic Body Care in Australia and New Zealand, had previously developed a strong local customer base. However, the brand's presence on Amazon was not meeting expectations due to unstructured product listings, inconsistent imagery, and ongoing issues with unauthorised resellers affecting pricing integrity.

To address these challenges, Pattern collaborated with Lateral Food Corporation to overhaul Dr. Bronner's Amazon storefront. The partnership focused on creating a more structured, engaging, and brand-aligned presentation aimed at enhancing discoverability and ensuring consistent brand messaging.

Vanita Hutchinson, Sales Manager for Lateral Foods Corporation, commented on the importance of accurately representing Dr. Bronner's on Amazon. She said, "Dr Bronner's. stands for integrity, in its products and how it shows up as a brand. Dr Bronner's. needed its Amazon storefront to reflect that; something that was structured, engaging and true to its values. Pattern helped make that happen."

The improvements included restructuring the product catalogue, enhancing product titles and search engine optimisation, and introducing a refreshed storefront design. New additions such as lifestyle content and navigation by scent were implemented to improve the customer experience and increase engagement.

Between January and May 2025, these changes resulted in a 38% increase in average monthly units sold and a 55% rise in monthly revenue compared to the same period in the previous year. Storefront traffic almost doubled, indicating higher customer interest and engagement with the brand's offerings on Amazon.

Pattern also worked to address pricing inconsistencies and trust issues caused by unauthorised sellers. The company used a suite of tools to monitor for and act against unauthorised activity, leading to an increase in Amazon Buy Box wins from 66% to 90%.

"Dr. Bronner's already had an incredible following and a strong product lineup," explained Merline McGregor, Managing Director for Pattern Australia. "Our focus was on elevating the brand's online presence to match that strength, refining the catalogue, optimising the experience and ultimately helping more customers connect with Dr. Bronner's in an authentic way."

Hutchinson said the collaboration had delivered clear results for Dr. Bronner's in the online retail space. "Working with Pattern has made a real difference. They helped us protect the brand while opening up new opportunities to grow. Their team understood what matters to us and brought that to life in the way customers experience our products online."

Advertising strategy

Advertising has played a critical role in Dr. Bronner's renewed success in the Australian marketplace. As of May, targeted campaign strategies managed by Pattern now account for 93% of the brand's Amazon sales in Australia, providing a significant contribution to performance during major retail periods.

"When brands combine great products with the right catalogue and promotional strategy, the results speak for themselves. By understanding when and how customers shop, we've been able to position Dr. Bronner's front and centre during high-impact moments and turn that visibility into real growth," McGregor concluded.
