Axify integrates with OpenTable for restaurant bookings
Tue, 6th Oct 2026 (Today)
Axify has launched an integration with OpenTable for restaurant reservations, allowing its AI Workforce to handle supported voice reservation tasks within OpenTable workflows.
Participating restaurants can use Axify to search availability, create reservations, and complete supported booking changes and cancellations through OpenTable. The system is designed to work with existing hospitality software rather than replace it.
While the announcement focuses on reservation work, Axify positioned it as part of a broader approach to hospitality operations. Operators have already invested in systems for reservations, events, accommodation, ordering, customer relationship management, payments, and guest communications, and Axify said its software is built to work across that mix.
Under that model, Axify said its AI Workforce can interpret guest intent, use reservation history and preferences, manage incoming demand, take action in connected systems, and hand work to staff when human intervention is needed.
Reservation workflow
The OpenTable integration adds a connection to one of the most widely used restaurant booking platforms. OpenTable says it works with more than 70,000 restaurants worldwide and handles 2 billion seats a year.
For restaurant operators, the main use case is handling reservation-related phone activity without requiring venue teams to interrupt service. Axify said the goal is to complete more work automatically and give staff more time to focus on guests in the venue.
Bianca Brady, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Axify, linked the integration to a broader push to move AI beyond conversation and into business systems.
"AI creates its greatest value when it can move beyond conversation and complete real operational work. Hospitality operators already have sophisticated technology systems; they need AI that can work across them. OpenTable is a great example. By connecting Axify into those workflows, our AI Workforce can complete reservation work while the broader platform supports the wider guest journey. Our call analysis shows that at least 30% of calls concern new revenue-related opportunities and in a Laundy Hotels pilot across three venues, that equated to $1.26 million in commercial opportunity plus a further 621 hours returned to teams. That is the opportunity for hospitality operators: securing more revenue while giving teams more capacity to focus on the guests in front of them. By working across the systems operators already use, our AI Workforce can deliver value across the wider hospitality operation," said Bianca Brady, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Axify.
The Laundy Hotels pilot cited by Brady covered three venues. According to Axify, the results indicated AUD $1.26 million in commercial opportunity and 621 hours returned to teams.
Pressure on restaurants
OpenTable's Australian business linked the partnership to the operating pressures facing local restaurants, saying venues are trying to manage labour constraints while maintaining service standards for diners.
"Restaurants across Australia are under pressure to do more with less, while maintaining the personal touch their guests expect. By working with voice AI partners like Axify, restaurants can offer diners a seamless way to book and manage reservations. This helps teams work more efficiently, capture more booking opportunities, and focus on delivering great hospitality," said Drew Bowering, General Manager Australia, OpenTable.
Axify is based in Australia and focuses on hospitality operations. The company said its system is used across reservations, guest enquiries, private events, accommodation, ordering, and customer service, and that it serves operators in Australia, North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
The integration reflects a broader push among hospitality technology providers to connect AI tools with software venues already use, rather than asking operators to move core workflows into separate applications. In this case, Axify said restaurants can keep their existing operating systems in place while using its software to carry out reservation tasks within OpenTable.
OpenTable is part of Booking Holdings and describes itself as a restaurant technology provider with a large global network. For Axify, connecting to the platform provides a route into one of the central systems many restaurants already use to manage bookings.
According to Axify, the result is that operators can keep their existing systems while its AI Workforce works across the current technology stack.
