Amazon launches Spend Visibility tool for Aussie firms

Tue, 27th Jan 2026

Amazon Business has launched Spend Visibility for Business Prime members in Australia, adding analytics dashboards that show how organisations spend across purchasing categories.

The company said the feature is available now across eligible Business Prime tiers. It centres on interactive dashboards for administrators. Amazon Business said the dashboards show spend across categories in near real time and present historical purchasing data in visual formats.

Spend Visibility sits within Amazon's business purchasing service, which targets organisations that buy workplace supplies and other goods through Amazon. Business Prime is the paid membership layer for Amazon Business, which bundles purchasing and account features for organisations.

Dashboard Tools

Amazon Business said Spend Visibility consolidates spend data into dashboards that administrators can use to review purchasing activity. The company positioned the product as a way for procurement teams to monitor spend patterns and category performance.

The feature focuses on visibility across purchasing categories. Amazon said administrators can analyse spend and identify trends. It also said teams can compare category performance and use the data when making purchasing decisions.

Procurement Controls

Amazon Business linked the new analytics tools with other buying controls on the platform. The company pointed to Guided Buying, which administrators use to set purchasing rules and preferred items. Amazon said insights from Spend Visibility can inform policies and guardrails applied through those tools.

The release of Spend Visibility comes as many organisations manage buying across multiple teams and locations. Decentralised purchasing has become common in large organisations and mid-sized firms. It often increases the number of buyers and suppliers involved in day-to-day spend.

Amazon Business said Spend Visibility acts as a single view of spend in these environments. The company also said the feature addresses requests for more transparency and accountability in business purchasing.

Local Availability

Amazon Business said Spend Visibility is live for customers in Australia who hold an eligible Business Prime membership. It did not specify which tiers qualify in the announcement or whether pricing changes apply.

The company also did not provide figures on the number of Australian organisations using Amazon Business, or adoption targets for the new analytics feature.

Amazon has expanded its focus on business customers in recent years across multiple markets. It has developed tools that cover business-only pricing, purchasing controls, invoicing options and integration points for procurement processes.

"Spend Visibility represents our continued commitment to empowering Australian businesses with powerful, easy-to-use tools that drive smarter purchasing decisions," said Lena Zak, Country Manager of Amazon Business Australia. "By providing procurement decision makers with interactive dashboards, and real-time insights across every spending category, we're helping organisations of all sizes optimise their budgets and make data-driven decisions that directly impact their bottom line. This launch is another step in our mission to make business buying simpler and smarter, so Australian companies can focus on what matters most - growing their business, and serving their customers."

Amazon Business said it expects more Australian Business Prime members to use Spend Visibility as part of ongoing efforts to expand analytics and procurement management features on the platform.
