AdUnion tops Australian growth lists for streaming media success
AdUnion has been recognised for its recent rapid growth, securing places on three major Australian business leaderboards: the 2025 Australian Financial Review Fast 100, the Deloitte Tech Fast 50, and SmartCompany's Smart50. The Melbourne-based agency is the only media business named on this year's Deloitte list, and was the fastest-growing agency in its sector according to the AFR ranking.
National recognition
The three industry rankings collectively highlight fast-growing businesses in Australia, with the Deloitte list focusing on revenue growth among technology companies, the AFR list recognising established large enterprises, and SmartCompany's Smart50 identifying stand-out SMEs. AdUnion achieved a spot at number 31 on the Deloitte Tech Fast 50 and number 26 on the AFR Fast 100. Within the Smart50, it was listed as the 8th fastest-growing small-to-medium enterprise and was the highest placed media agency.
Streaming media focus
The company's growth is closely tied to its specialism in streaming television and audio advertising. AdUnion has developed technology to target and measure campaign effectiveness in these channels. Its proprietary AdMatch platform connects advertisers' digital data with their streaming ad campaign activity, providing clearer analytics and campaign optimisation tools. This investment in streaming technology supports brands seeking more detailed insights and targeting in digital media campaigns.
Leadership investment
Recent organisational changes have included reinforcement of its leadership team and operational capability. Since 2023, AdUnion has more than tripled its revenue. The company's management points to a deliberate emphasis on efficiency, transparency and the use of cloud-based artificial intelligence tools to support its data capability in streaming media.
Client and sector diversity
The agency reports an expanding client base across several sectors including retail, travel, financial services, health, education, and fast-moving consumer goods. This diversification is attributed to the increasing importance of streaming as a core media channel within Australian advertising strategies.
"We are overwhelmed to be named on three of the country's most prestigious growth lists. This recognition is testament to the strength of our offering, our commitment to transforming the market and tribute to the work of our team and their commitment to innovation," said Adam Shalagin, Co-Founder, AdUnion.
"When we started AdUnion, it was in direct response to seeing a better way of operating, offering brands greater transparency, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness in media. With the digitising of traditional media, we saw a real opportunity to focus on impactful streaming media and outdoor campaigns, to help build brands and produce tangible results for clients. This unique capability and specialism differentiated our agency, allowing us to cut through in a competitive market," said Shalagin.
"We've been deliberate in developing strong foundations for our data capability that leverages cloud-based AI tools, establishing ourselves as an agency that specialises in streaming media. With these foundations in place, now is the time to focus on building our client roster - we're excited for the year ahead," said Shalagin.
"Streaming is now the mainstay of media consumption in Australia. The growing diversity of brands turning to us, from retail and travel to financial services, health, education and increasingly, FMCG, shows just how central streaming has become to effective media strategies. We are proud to be driving that shift, and setting new standards for what success looks like in this space," said Robert Ong, Managing Director, AdUnion.
