Zeller launches 'Bill at Table' to boost restaurant efficiency

Yesterday

Zeller, an Australian fintech company, has launched "Bill at Table," a solution aimed at helping restaurateurs increase table turnover and improve operational efficiency.

The "Bill at Table" system has been introduced in partnership with Impos, a prominent Australian hospitality point-of-sale platform. This system allows waiters to present digital, itemised bills directly via the Zeller EFTPOS Terminal screen and accept payment instantly at the table, streamlining the entire diner experience from billing to payment.

A study conducted on the implementation of this technology in Australian restaurants showed that they could increase their table turnover by 73% compared to the manual billing process. The enhanced speed and efficiency of the "Bill at Table" system allow more diners to be served, potentially boosting revenue in a competitive and challenging hospitality industry landscape.

"In 2025, Australia's most popular hospitality institutions are embracing technology to drive automation and improve service," said James Vatiliotis, Zeller Product Lead. "As these restaurants continue to face cost-of-living pressures, we're deploying new solutions to help them serve more diners and increase revenue in every sitting — particularly through using time-saving and experience-enhancing payments technology like Zeller Bill at Table."

The collaboration between Zeller and Impos recognises the pressing need for innovative solutions within the hospitality sector, where speed and efficiency are critical. Matt Griffiths, Impos General Manager, stated, "We are excited to partner with Zeller, allowing venues a seamless, secure, and innovative payment experience. Together, we can provide hospitality businesses with the tools they need to enhance efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and drive growth."

Ben Hickey, Director at The Roosevelt, an inner-Sydney cocktail bar, has been utilising "Bill at Table" for several months and noted its positive impact on operations. "Bill at Table is particularly great. It's much smoother – the bill is settled then and there and they're off into the night – and we're onto the next table." The system's ability to handle split payments conveniently has also been a significant advantage for the establishment.

The adoption of "Bill at Table" brings several benefits to restaurateurs, including the ability to provide itemised bills directly at the table, enhanced payment acceptance such as adding tips and splitting the bill among groups, and a reduction in reliance on paper receipts, which positively impacts the environment.

The solution is currently available for all Zeller and Impos customers, with plans to introduce the technology to additional point-of-sale systems soon, broadening its reach within the hospitality industry. This initiative aligns with Zeller's objective to reimagine business banking by providing integrated tools that improve cash flow and efficiency for Australian businesses.
