RØDE Creator of the Year Awards return with USD $200,000 prize pool

Fri, 3rd Oct 2025

RØDE has announced the return of its Creator of the Year Awards for 2025, aiming to recognise talent across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other digital platforms.

Competition details

This year's awards introduce 18 categories, comprising three major awards and 15 Spotlight Awards. The total prize pool exceeds USD $200,000 in cash and prizes, provided in partnership with creative and technology sector companies such as Mackie, Canon UK, Nothing, Nanlite, Lectrosonics, Urth, Notion, Artlist, Pelican, SanDisk, espresso Displays, and Miller.

The Creator of the Year Award, which acknowledges outstanding talent and cultural impact, comes with a cash prize of USD $25,000 and a major prize pack. The Emerging Creator of the Year will receive USD $10,000 and a major prize pack, celebrating those who are new to content creation. The People's Choice Award, determined by public voting, will also grant USD $10,000 and a major prize pack to the most popular creator.

Fifteen Spotlight Awards, designed to reward excellence and originality in specific creative disciplines, will each come with a USD $5,000 prize and a minor prize pack. The exact content categories for the Spotlight Awards will be announced when finalists are revealed.

Selection process

RØDE's global judging team will oversee the shortlisting and selection of entries for all categories except the People's Choice Award, which will be decided by the public. Those who participate in voting can also win one of 10 exclusive Voter Prize Packs to be awarded at the end of the competition.

Shortlisted entrants, regardless of category, will receive a RØDE Creator Pack. This includes merchandise, audio gear, and an official certificate of recognition.

Community voting for the People's Choice Award finalists will occur between November 6 and November 19, with all category winners to be announced on November 20 via the Creator of the Year website.

Entry process

The awards are open to creators worldwide, with an entry process described by organisers as straightforward and accessible. Participants are required to provide a link to their own nominated channel on any platform that best represents their work. RØDE's judging panel will then review submissions, placing shortlisted entries into the most suitable categories for consideration.

"Creativity is part of RØDE's DNA, so it's only natural that we celebrate those who use our products to bring their vision to life," said RØDE CEO, Damien Wilson. "Last year, we were blown away by the incredible talent from every corner of the globe. This year, we are excited to build on that legacy, providing a platform to amplify the voices of the next generation."

The entry deadline for creators wishing to participate is October 30.

Industry involvement

The competition brings together several established technology and content creation brands as prize partners, contributing both hardware and software prizes in addition to cash awards. Support from these industry partners is designed to further the work of both emerging and established content creators globally.

The event continues to align with RØDE's stated aim to support and reward content creators who make use of its equipment in their audio and video production workflows. Previous iterations of the awards have seen participation from a diverse pool of creators, reflecting trends in digital content and the global reach of online video and social media platforms.

The Creator of the Year Awards have emerged as an annual fixture for creators worldwide, offering both recognition and material support for talent working across a broad spectrum of digital media.
