Pharmx launches Pharmacy Portal to streamline supply chain

Today

Pharmx Technologies has introduced a new centralised Pharmacy Portal aimed at simplifying operational processes for pharmacies across Australia.

The new Pharmacy Portal is designed to provide pharmacies with quick access to order and invoice records, real-time insights into spending, and streamlined account management with trading partners connected through the Pharmx Gateway.

Pharmx occupies a significant position in the pharmacy supply chain by connecting with wholesalers and suppliers throughout Australia and New Zealand. The introduction of the Portal is expected to enhance how pharmacies transact by offering a modern digital experience while encouraging increased usage of the Pharmx Gateway. The Gateway connects directly with pharmacy point-of-sale and order management systems, enabling stock ordering, automated invoicing, and real-time exchange of data.

Main features

The Portal provides a set of functions geared towards simplifying common tasks in pharmacies:

  • Centralised access to order and invoice history, easing the process of financial record-keeping and reconciliation
  • Real-time expenditure insights to assist with budgeting and purchasing
  • A supplier directory and connection management tools for faster supplier discovery and more manageable account administration across the Gateway network

This launch represents the first pharmacy-facing solution to debut under Pharmx's refreshed brand identity, a move intended to strengthen visibility with pharmacies and reinforce Pharmx's value among its user base. Pharmx considers this introduction a step towards increasing customer loyalty and retention on its platform.

Supplier engagement

Suppliers integrated with the Pharmx network are also expected to benefit from the launch. For suppliers, the Portal offers greater visibility among pharmacies, boosts opportunities for customer interaction, and streamlines the process of connecting with trading partners. Pharmx anticipates that these features will help increase the pace of trading across its supply chain ecosystem.

Tom Culver, CEO of Pharmx, commented: "The Pharmacy Portal strengthens our core offering while laying the foundation for the next phase of our product roadmap. As we continue to evolve the platform, the Portal will immediately deliver day-to-day value to our pharmacy customers through modern, user-centric technology built on our market-wide Gateway infrastructure."

Pharmx has stated that the Portal is a key part of its continued commitment to digital enablement and platform development within the pharmacy sector, and that it is working toward future enhancements including advanced trading functions to serve modern pharmacy operations.

Complementary solutions

The Pharmacy Portal complements the Pharmx Supplier Portal, which was launched earlier and redesigned supplier onboarding. Pharmx reports that the Supplier Portal reduced the time taken for both global and local suppliers to join the Pharmx Gateway from approximately twelve weeks to one day.

By increasing engagement within its network - which reaches 99% of Australian pharmacies and involves 170 suppliers - the new Portal is expected to further consolidate Pharmx's position in the Australian pharmacy supply chain and deliver benefits for stakeholders throughout. Pharmx currently handles approximately AUD $20 billion in transactions through its platform each year. While the company foresees a boost in trading activity as a result of the new Portal's launch, it has not quantified the expected financial impact at this stage.
