Kraken introduces crypto derivatives for Australian clients

Mon, 4th Nov 2024

Kraken has announced a new service offering tailored for Australian wholesale clients, providing a range of crypto-based derivatives products.

Kraken, recognised as one of the longest-standing crypto platforms globally, is now extending its range of services to cater to the needs of wholesale clients in Australia by offering crypto-based derivatives via a licensed financial services broker.

This service allows clients to engage with the derivatives market, enhancing their risk management and exposure capabilities without the necessity of holding the actual crypto assets.

Jonathon Miller, Kraken's General Manager for Australia and Rest of World, stated, "Over our 13 year history, we have always aspired to be one step ahead of market demand."

"Australian wholesale clients are looking for the ability to execute advanced trading strategies using a licensed broker backed by Kraken's high security standards. Our new premium product meets our client's trading needs, and helps them to advance in their crypto journey."

Kraken is set to offer support for over 200 tradable assets, which will include multi-collateral options such as fiat, stablecoin, and crypto. Secure custodial solutions are in place to ensure the safekeeping of these assets, alongside a commitment to provide continuous client support.

Miller further commented, "Australia has long been a cornerstone of Kraken's global operation. Our licensed broker offering is testament to our ongoing commitment to regulatory compliance and to bring exciting crypto products to market that can truly unlock institutional demand for cryptoassets."

This new offering is now accessible to prospective Australian wholesale clients through Kraken's online support platform.

Meanwhile, Kraken's existing Australian wholesale clients can verify their eligibility to access these services via the Kraken Pro application.
