Eagle Eye launches Smart Rewards for real-time retail loyalty
Eagle Eye has introduced Smart Rewards, a new real-time loyalty and promotions platform designed for retailers seeking greater speed, flexibility and control over customer engagement at the point of sale.
The Smart Rewards system is part of Eagle Eye's Smart Checkout suite and enables retailers to execute personalised incentives and rewards at the precise moment of transaction, both in-store and online, with processing times reported to be under 150 milliseconds.
Omnichannel loyalty
Smart Rewards uses an API-first, cloud-based infrastructure. This allows retailers to deliver targeted offers, discounts, and loyalty points across every channel, integrating with existing retail technology stacks and customer touchpoints such as physical stores, eCommerce platforms, and shopping apps.
The company highlighted examples of how retailers might deploy the platform, such as providing loyalty members with an automatic discount during checkout if they have previously qualified for one, or processing all applicable rewards and points instantly as their basket is scanned.
Jonathan Reeve, Regional Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand at Eagle Eye, said the solution would change the way retailers implement loyalty at the checkout.

Companies currently working with Eagle Eye in Australia and New Zealand include Endeavour Group, Woolworths and Z Energy.
Personalisation and control
The Smart Rewards platform operates by identifying program members at the checkout, analysing their basket and digital wallet for qualifying discounts or offers, and cross-referencing eligibility automatically. Loyalty discounts are then applied to the customer's transaction in real-time, with updates reflected instantly in digital wallets through the retailer's app or web interface.
To manage offers and prevent misuse, Smart Rewards incorporates promotions ordering, rules to determine the number of offers in a transaction, and item-based reward limits. The platform also uses fraud protection and has specific tools for exchanges and refunds-automatically re-analysing baskets when items are returned, reclaiming points or reversing redemptions if needed.
Eagle Eye CEO Tim Mason said the new solution would assist retailers in matching customer expectations for real-time recognition and personalisation.
