Asendia launches SendNow for Australian SME exporters

Thu, 12th Feb 2026

Asendia has launched SendNow, an international shipping platform for Australian small and medium-sized eCommerce businesses selling to overseas customers.

SendNow is aimed at merchants shipping up to 500 parcels a month and provides access to Asendia's delivery network of more than 200 destinations.

The platform connects with major online sales channels, including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce. It also syncs order, label and tracking data across storefronts in real time.

Customs and tracking

Key features include automated customs pre-clearance, with duty and tax calculation, along with label creation, tracking and reporting tools.

Asendia positions SendNow as a self-service product with transparent pricing and customer support. It also offers multiple drop-off and collection options through ParcelPoint and a network of Hubbed drop-off points.

The launch comes as Australian online retailers increasingly look beyond the domestic market. Industry surveys cited by Asendia indicate 66% of Australian eCommerce SMEs already sell internationally. Separate research cited by the company puts the number of active SME eCommerce businesses in Australia at more than 100,000, with projected growth of 8% in 2025.

Another survey cited by Asendia suggests international operations have become a board-level priority for many digital-first companies. Visa research referenced by the company found 90% of online business leaders view an international presence as essential for growth.

Competition in cross-border fulfilment has intensified as carriers, postal groups and specialist logistics providers pursue small-business volumes. Many platforms focus on higher-volume merchants, while marketplaces continue to expand their own shipping and fulfilment options.

Asendia is seeking to differentiate SendNow through ease of setup and suitability for smaller retailers. The service has no minimum volume requirement for merchants that want to start exporting at a modest scale.

"Nearly all Australian eCommerce businesses are keen to reach new international markets. With 66% of online retailer engaging in international sales, many of which are SMEs, we felt a specific solution was missing that allowed them to expand with no minimum volume. SendNow by Asendia has been built from the ground up to remove the complexity and cost barriers that have traditionally held back smaller shippers. We're giving ambitious Australian entrepreneurs the same professional logistics capabilities as much larger retailers," said Lou Milicevic, Managing Director, Asendia Australia.

Network footprint

Asendia is a cross-border eCommerce delivery specialist shipping parcels globally. It traces its heritage to La Poste and Swiss Post and employs more than 2,000 people across Europe, the UK, Asia Pacific and the US.

The Australian launch reflects a broader push by logistics providers to package cross-border services into tools that plug directly into merchant workflows. For many small retailers, friction points include documentation, duties and taxes, and sharing tracking information with customers across multiple storefronts.

By combining marketplace integrations, customs processing and delivery network access in a single platform, SendNow aims to reduce administrative steps for smaller shippers and make costs more predictable. The service is now available to Australian eCommerce SMEs shipping within the platform's stated monthly parcel limit.
