Adyen and Hungry Jack's Partner to Support Make-A-Wish
Hungry Jack's has implemented Adyen Giving across all 471 of its Australian restaurants, allowing customers to round up their purchases and donate to Make-A-Wish Australia.
New donation feature
The feature, powered by payment company Adyen, enables customers at the quick service restaurant chain to make charitable donations at the point of sale by electing to round up their total to the nearest dollar. The donations directly support Make-A-Wish Australia, which works to grant wishes for children living with critical illness.
In the first month since the rollout, the initiative raised AUD $58,000. For the duration of 2025, Adyen has pledged to match every customer donation dollar-for-dollar, increasing the impact of customer contributions. In total, AUD $2.7 million was raised for Make-A-Wish Australia in June 2025, a record for the organisation's annual Wishmaker campaign.
Partnership details
The launch of Adyen Giving during the June Wishmaker campaign marked a key development in the ongoing relationship between Hungry Jack's and Adyen. The two companies have partnered since 2018, with Adyen providing payment processing solutions for Hungry Jack's across online, in-store, drive-thru, and mobile ordering channels.
"We're proud to support Make-A-Wish Australia in helping grant life-changing wishes," said Chris Green, CEO at Hungry Jack's. "Adyen Giving makes it easy for our customers to get involved, and it's been incredible to see how many have already chosen to give back and make a difference."
The funds raised through customer donations support a broad spectrum of wishes facilitated by Make-A-Wish Australia. These range from meeting personal heroes and attending special experiences to receiving unique gifts, all intended to provide positive memories and moments of hope for children and their families in difficult circumstances.
Adyen's involvement has been characterised as a way to leverage payments technology for social purposes. Reflecting on the company's aim, Hayley Fisher, Country Manager for Adyen Australia and New Zealand, said, "This is exactly why we built Adyen Giving – to help businesses like Hungry Jack's turn everyday transactions into real impact. It's powerful to see technology making it easier for customers to contribute, and we're proud to support Hungry Jack's and Make-A-Wish Australia in creating meaningful change."
Speaking on behalf of Make-A-Wish Australia, Sally Bateman, CEO, attributed significant value to the support received through the new functionality: "Hungry Jack's has been an incredible partner to Make-A-Wish Australia, with its commitment felt in every store and community. With the simple and convenient support of Adyen Giving, its customers' generosity is helping create unforgettable experiences for seriously ill children and their families across Australia."
Donation impact
The matching commitment from Adyen is set to continue until the end of 2025, doubling customer donations and further contributing to Make-A-Wish Australia's fundraising targets. The funds from the Wishmaker campaign, including those raised via the Adyen Giving feature, support the delivery of Make-A-Wish's Wish Journey programme, which helps build anticipation and provides carefully curated experiences for eligible children.
According to Make-A-Wish Australia, the Wish Journey approach encompasses capturing and designing each wish to maximise its positive effect for children and their families, providing a sense of hope and relief during periods of illness or treatment.
Customer participation
Hungry Jack's customers at any of the 471 participating restaurants can opt to round up their bill during payment. The process, facilitated at the checkout, is designed to be straightforward for both staff and customers, with the overall goal of making charitable giving accessible and convenient within everyday purchasing decisions.
The adoption of the feature across all outlets marks an extension of digital payment capabilities at Hungry Jack's and is intended to contribute further to community support initiatives through ongoing donations.
