Knorr-Bremse chooses JAGGAER to boost supplier relations
Knorr-Bremse has selected JAGGAER's Source-to-Pay suite to enhance its supplier communications and compliance efforts globally.
The decision-making process saw JAGGAER awarded the contract, following a comprehensive vendor comparison.
Andreas Piehl, Specialist for Tools & Processes Procurement at Knorr-Bremse Rail Division, explained the reasoning: "One of the main challenges of software solutions for direct procurement is reliably and comprehensively mapping the complex needs of this area."
"Due to its tailored and end-user-friendly solutions, the Source-to-Pay suite from JAGGAER finally prevailed among the competitors and won our contract."
Knorr-Bremse, a global leader in braking systems and other safety-critical systems for rail and commercial vehicles, seeks to digitalise its supplier communications to enhance transparency, efficiency, and compliance amidst increasing regulatory demands.
The phased implementation will begin at pilot locations, focusing on purchasing, quality, and supply chain functionalities before a broader rollout.
Piehl also highlighted the importance of collaboration, stating, "We quickly realised that JAGGAER and aneon had the right expertise. Our requirements were immediately understood, and the team offered us both technological and professional alignment with what we needed." The collaboration includes aneon solutions, a subsidiary of the H&Z Group, which further supported JAGGAER's winning bid.
Christian Keck, Vice President Global Supply Chain Management at Knorr-Bremse Systeme für Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH, noted that in addition to the rail division, further modules would be implemented in the commercial vehicle division areas of Quality and Supply Chain Management to enhance digitalisation. This holistic approach aims to improve collaborations, streamline communications, and maintain a Single Source of Truth for supplier data.
JAGGAER's platform allows for the independent management of documents and certifications by suppliers, which aims to ensure seamless and audit-proof processes.
The solutions are designed to standardise various supplier management processes through automation, thereby eliminating redundancies and optimising communication across global locations.
Feedback from over 40 users across Knorr-Bremse locations played a significant role in deciding on JAGGAER's solutions. According to Piehl, "From now on, everything will run uniformly worldwide through one system, creating great added value for all parties involved. Among other things, key processes will be accelerated, and communication between us and suppliers will become even more efficient."
Justin Sadler-Smith, Senior Vice President Europe at JAGGAER, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the selection process.
"We are very pleased that, after such an intensive selection process, we were awarded the contract by a global player like Knorr-Bremse and that user feedback supported our solutions," he said.
"This also confirms that our tools have convinced not only technologically but also in handling. Direct procurement brings specific challenges, so it is all the more gratifying to know that the Knorr-Bremse team and users trust our expertise."
