FYI, this story is more than a year old

Global Payments, a foremost provider of payment technology and software solutions worldwide, has announced the launch of their latest real-time omnichannel payment technology in Australia. This marks a first for Oceania, offering a single customer experience that combines ecommerce, in-person EFTPOS, and real-time PayTo capability. The Global Payments Omnichannel draws on innovative Single Application Programming Interface (API) technology that creates a comprehensive data set offering a cohesive insight into consumer buying habits.

This new feature offers businesses the ability to gain extensive customer insights on a large scale, leading to more pertinent, personalised customer experiences. Importely, it ensures a smooth buying experience that transcends all channels and devices. The innovative technology used by Global Payments Omnichannel has been identified as a unique selling point that enables businesses to offer a best-in-class payment channel selection to their customers.

Masseh Haidary, CEO of Payments Oceania at Global Payments, revealed that delivering an omnichannel experience that includes real-time PayTo capability posed significant technical challenges which demanded innovation and strategic future-planning. "We have combined local expertise gathered over more than two decades via the Ezidebit and Eway platforms with the technological leadership of Global Payments to deliver a unified platform with substantial capability," said Haidary. He also revealed that expansions of future capabilities, which encompass multi-market payments facilities for global connectivity, are currently underway.

Head of Partner Acquisition Oceania at Global Payments, Chevy Devudu, noted that the omnichannel capability offers vendors and merchants added agility to fast-track their business growth. "Omnichannel functionality bridges the gap between the online and offline experience", Chevy said. This Single API technology positions merchants to better respond to shifting market needs, such as the growing adoption of real-time PayTo payments.

In an era where customers increasingly expect individualised offerings and experiences, Global Payments aims to meet these preferences with their omnichannel payment solution. Head of Product and Marketing Oceania at Global Payments, Helen Flaherty, observed that regardless of whether consumers alternate between in-store, online, or mobile channels, Global Payments Omnichannel maintains a unified customer touchpoint. "This presents businesses with a single, integrated view of the customer across their commerce channels, allowing them to create experiences that their customers love, fostering brand loyalty in the process," Flaherty said.
