Adobe named top medium workplace in Australia's 2024 rankings

Adobe has been recognised by Great Place to Work as the top entry in Australia’s Best Workplaces 2024 - Medium list. This accolade marks the 12th consecutive year Adobe has earned such recognition, reflecting its ongoing efforts to cultivate a supportive and innovative working environment for its employees.

Commenting on the achievement, Katrina Troughton, Vice President and Managing Director of Adobe Australia and New Zealand, stated, "We're honoured to again be recognised as one of Australia’s Best Places to Work. Our strong culture, technology leadership and progressive workplace policies have helped us attract and retain the best talent in the country. From this solid foundation, our teams continue to build and deliver some incredible innovations at pace, which help our customers and the community to create, grow and win."

Great Place to Work announced the results at the Best Workplaces industry event held at W Hotel Sydney, revealing the 17th annual list which includes 100 organisations across various categories. These categories are defined by organisation size: micro (less than 30 employees), small (30 to 99 employees), medium (100 to 999 employees) and large (1,000 or more employees). The companies recognised span diverse industries such as technology, retail, hospitality, healthcare, logistics, education, and professional services, employing between 10 to nearly 10,000 staff.

Rebecca Moulynox, General Manager of Great Place to Work Australia, highlighted key trends this year, noting that with shifts in the economic environment, employee priorities have significantly evolved. “Employees are placing a heightened emphasis on fundamental needs like security and stability,” Moulynox observed. “The strongest indicator of a Great Workplace is the integrity of its leaders. Employees increasingly seek trustworthy leadership.”

Moulynox further elaborated on the shifting dynamics within workplaces, stating, "As external challenges intensify, employees increasingly value leaders who are not only consistent and ethical but also transparent. The growing scepticism towards executive teams underscores the need for leaders to not only implement decisive actions but also to communicate these actions clearly and openly."

The assessment process for the Best Workplaces list involved comprehensive analytics and confidential employee feedback. Great Place to Work used the same methodology as it applies to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For in the United States and Fortune's World’s Best Workplaces. The evaluation focused on the Great Place to Work Trust Index survey which measures the key relationships driving an employee's workplace experience, specifically relationships with management, colleagues, and their job. The Trust Index score reflects the percentage of employees who view their company as a great workplace and is indicative of their actual workplace experience.

Among the top winners in the medium category were companies such as Visagio Australia, Slalom, and H&H Group (Swisse Wellness) following Adobe's lead. In the large category, companies such as Cisco, Hilton, and DHL One were recognised, with Cisco taking the top spot. For the small category, Macquarie Cloud Services ranked first, followed by ProQuest Consulting and V2 Digital.

The announcement underscores the importance of robust leadership and stable work environments, especially in times of economic uncertainty. The Great Place to Work rankings continue to serve as a benchmark for companies aiming to foster better work environments and enhance employee satisfaction.
