FYI, this story is more than a year old

Forter, the Trust Platform for eCommerce, has announced it has been selected by the Accent Group to help automate and scale the footwear leader’s eCommerce business.

With more than 750 stores and 36 websites, Accent Group has become Australia and New Zealand’s largest footwear retailer, bringing much-loved brands such as Platypus, Hype DC, Glue Store, The Athlete’s Foot, Skechers and Vans to consumers across the region.

Its digital business has grown to more than 24% of its total sales, with a customer base of more than 9 million.

Accent needed to scale its digital commerce business to support growing partnerships, new acquisitions, and consumer buying patterns. However, its manual fraud review process flagged many good customers as risky, delaying orders and impacting approval rates.

The company decided to deploy Forter's Trusted Conversions solution to automate the fraud management process and eliminate manual reviews. Now, Accent stops fraudsters and ensures that good customers can always complete their online transactions.

Notably, several renowned retailers use Forter's Trust platform for digital commerce. The platform applies machine learning to deliver decisions that are 100% automated, with average response times under 400 milliseconds. In addition, since the platform has no dependency on manual reviewers, it scales easily as merchants grow.

Forter's Trust platform comprises several solutions: Trusted Conversions, Trusted Policies, Trusted Identities, Smart Payments PSD2, and Forter Element.

Here, Trusted Conversions reduce false declines and chargebacks by up to 90%, thereby delivering a superior customer experience.

Trusted Conversions also eliminates fraud costs. It provides accurate, real-time decisions for every transaction, allowing more good buyers in, while keeping fraud out. It also makes precise decisions about an individual's trustworthiness at checkout based on near-instant assessments and linking of 1B+ identities in Trust's cross-merchant dataset.

It assesses trustworthiness with precision in less than 400 milliseconds so the merchants can approve far more genuine transactions and reject fraudsters.

It guarantees results regarding fraud chargebacks, approval rates, and response time SLAs.

“Digital channels play a critical role in enabling our customers to shop with us any way they want," says Martin Hourigan, General Manager - Commercial, Accent.

“Our partnership with Forter means we have a fraud platform that can support our continued innovation and growth while blocking fraud attempts and delivering a superior customer experience. It’s truly a win-win.”

“The cost of complicating the online buying process and denying good customers cannot be understated. Research shows that if a new online customer is declined, 40% will never come back to that site,” says Joe Lee, Vice President APAC, Forter.

“Leading retailers like Accent Group understand that, in order to scale, they need a fully automated fraud solution that addresses the end-to-end buyer’s journey. We’re excited to work with Accent Group to help drive business and improve customer experience.”
