Thoughtworks partners with AWS to advance GenAI in Asia

Yesterday

Thoughtworks has formalised a strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to facilitate the development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) solutions for enterprises in the Asia Pacific region.

Through this collaboration, Thoughtworks aims to assist industries such as automotive, energy, financial services, healthcare, and media and entertainment in employing GenAI solutions to enhance customer engagement and boost revenue.

As an AWS Consulting Partner, Thoughtworks is leveraging GenAI to transition customer ideas from proofs of concept to scalable applications that produce swift outcomes. PEXA Group, a digital property exchange platform operating in Australia and the UK, is one customer benefiting.

Thoughtworks collaborated with PEXA to develop the GenAI Assistant on Amazon Bedrock, optimising the use of internal knowledge sources to expedite property information responses from one minute to five seconds, increasing employee productivity.

"PEXA's bold GenAI ambition was made possible by bringing together the best of what the tech industry has to offer, with Thoughtworks' deep industry expertise and AWS's cutting-edge technology. It's exciting to see Thoughtworks and AWS partner once again to drive innovation and explore the endless possibilities that meaningful use of AI can bring to businesses like PEXA," said Eglantine Etiemble, PEXA Group Chief Technology Officer.

The strategic agreement outlines several key initiatives to drive GenAI adoption. These include offering access to the Thoughtworks Haiven team assistant, an AI-enabled knowledge amplifier integrated with Amazon Bedrock to streamline complex tasks into manageable components in GenAI projects.

Additionally, Thoughtworks is enhancing its workforce by training over 70 employees on AWS GenAI services with plans to train an additional 200, strengthening their capacity to support clients in adopting GenAI technologies.

Thoughtworks is also expanding its presence across the Asia Pacific region in countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, to provide better access to these services.

Furthermore, Thoughtworks will make its AI offerings accessible via the AWS Marketplace, providing clients with streamlined options to find, purchase, and deploy AI solutions powered by AWS infrastructure.

"Our strategic collaboration with AWS will help deliver transformative industry-led solutions that empower organisations to achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency, innovation, and competitive advantage," stated Andy Nolan, Head of Emerging Technologies for Thoughtworks in Asia Pacific. "This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our journey to help clients unlock the full potential of AI and shape the future of their industries."

Corrie Briscoe, Director of Partner Sales, Asia Pacific Japan at AWS, commented on the agreement: "Our AWS Partners play a critical role in accelerating industry innovation and addressing customer needs.

We are thrilled to be deepening our collaboration with Thoughtworks through this new Strategic Collaboration Agreement to accelerate GenAI innovation in Asia Pacific and across the world. By leveraging AWS's latest cloud-enabled technologies, including GenAI, AWS is able to help joint customers across diverse industries, including PEXA Group, design, build, and critically, deliver GenAI solutions with ease and at scale."
