EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus brings 2kWh off‑grid power

Wed, 4th Mar 2026

EcoFlow has launched the DELTA 3 Max Plus portable power station in Australia, positioning the 2kWh unit for households, touring drivers and tradespeople who need mains-style electricity off-grid.

The battery has a 2,048Wh energy capacity and delivers 3,000W of rated AC output. EcoFlow lists a 6,000W surge rating and up to 3,900W when using its X-Boost mode.

A key feature for the Australian market is an Anderson-style high-current DC output built into the unit. This allows direct connection to some 4WD, caravan and auxiliary battery setups without an adapter. EcoFlow is targeting owners who want to integrate portable storage into a vehicle electrical system.

Use cases

EcoFlow is promoting the DELTA 3 Max Plus for home backup, off-grid travel and job sites. The output rating is pitched as suitable for kettles, lawn mowers, water pumps and power tools, as well as household appliances such as refrigerators and microwaves.

The unit can also expand beyond its internal battery. Compatible Smart Extra Batteries increase total capacity from 2kWh to 10kWh, which EcoFlow says can run essential home circuits for up to three days, depending on usage.

Charging options

The DELTA 3 Max Plus supports five charging methods, according to EcoFlow. Options include AC charging up to 2,300W, solar charging up to 1,000W, alternator charging up to 1,000W, and generator charging up to 2,400W. EcoFlow also lists hybrid charging combinations.

On AC power, EcoFlow says the battery can reach 80% charge in 47 minutes. Solar provides another option for users who travel with panels or want to charge at home during daylight hours.

The launch also includes the EcoFlow Alternator Charger Plus 1000, sold as an accessory for vehicle-based charging. EcoFlow says it can add about 1kWh in one hour of driving under ideal conditions-up to 10 times faster than charging from a 12V socket.

EcoFlow describes the alternator charger as a 3-in-1 product that can also act as a battery maintainer and provide reverse charging to support vehicle battery health. It can also serve as a solar input option up to 300W.

The alternator charger integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for monitoring via the vehicle display, according to EcoFlow.

Controls and protection

EcoFlow is differentiating the Plus model with a feature called Smart Output Priority, managed through the EcoFlow app on Apple and Android devices. It allows users to control outputs individually and set priorities for devices such as fridges, Wi‑Fi routers or medical equipment.

Users can also set battery reserve thresholds to shut down non-essential devices and preserve runtime for priority loads. EcoFlow says the system can cut non-critical circuits first if the total load exceeds 3,000W.

Design and durability

The DELTA 3 Max Plus uses LFP battery chemistry and a cell-to-chassis structural design. EcoFlow says this improves durability and thermal stability and supports a lifespan of up to 10 years.

EcoFlow also highlights a 10ms UPS switchover time for backup power applications. The unit is rated at no more than 25dB at a 600W load, and EcoFlow cites drop resistance and tolerance of 95% humidity.

Battery management is handled through a cloud-connected monitoring system that tracks state of charge, state of health and temperature in real time, according to EcoFlow.

EcoFlow also includes two software modes aimed at household energy management: an AI Mode that schedules charging during off-peak periods and discharges during peak periods, and a Self-Powered Mode that stores excess solar energy for later use.

Pricing and channels

EcoFlow has set an RRP of AUD $2,999 for the DELTA 3 Max Plus (2,048Wh) in Australia. The Smart Extra Battery is priced at AUD $2,099, and the Alternator Charger Plus 1000 at AUD $749.

Introductory pricing will be offered in phases, with the DELTA 3 Max Plus priced at AUD $2,799 initially, then AUD $2,699 later. EcoFlow also flagged limited-time bundles combining the power station with Smart Extra Batteries and bonus solar panels.

The unit will be sold through EcoFlow's online store, as well as Amazon and eBay.
